PC Technician

A PC Technician with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical users in an understandable and concise manner while solving complex technical issues is wanted at Robert Half Technology. This role may be for you if you are a self-starter and a problem solver who enjoys working in a positive, dynamic environment. As the PC Technician, you will work in the Romeoville, Illinois, region. This role is a short term temporary opportunity. For immediate consideration, please forward resumes to Matthew.Bird@rht.com Your responsibilities in this role - Communicate with suitable vendors to coordinate needed repairs - Support functionality testing and end users - Handle data transfers from PC to PC and troubleshoot software/hardware along with break/fix - Manage inventory of equipment, including collaborating on potential purchases - Provide documentation of daily data communication transactions, issues and repairs made or installation activities - Ensure the integrity of all electronic data records by following company quality standards - Install printers, troubleshoot and handle repairs - Diagnose, repair, rebuild, and refurbish PCs, laptops, monitors, server, and other computer hardware - Manage and execute technology implementation projects - Disassemble, pack, move and set up/install on site - Disassemble, box and ship equipment that is out of date - Interface with ticket submitters regularly and effectively - Image and set up new computers Job Requirements - 1+ years of experience supporting PC and Mac hardware and software, as well as knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN, and WAN - CompTIA A+ certification mandatory - Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds - Creative problem solver who anticipates risks and opportunities and maintains a vision for continuous improvement - Solid understanding of MS Windows 7 in an Active Directory environment - Preferred skills include an understanding of networking such as switching and routing - High attention to detail - Be able to adapt and thrive in constantly changing environments

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
