Ensures that our products meet the company's standards and specificationsComplete, legible and accurate documentationMust understand and follow all company Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's)Food Safety and Quality Standard Requirements are being maintained dailyMust understand and comply with the company Allergen, Food Defense and HACCP policiesMust communicate with Supervision of any Food Safety and Equipment concerns Follows all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) for the area workedEstablishes and maintains effective working relationshipsResponsibilitiesOversees and manages day-to-day Plant production:
Lead supervisors and staff to deliver and exceed performance metrics in areas of safety, quality, customer, service, costs, inventory management and productionManage, analyze, create reports, and develop recommendations from the key metrics (KPIs) of process operations and ensure execution of associated actionsCoordinate, control and schedule production to meet sales and marketing demand levelsDevelop policies and procedures targeted to eliminate downtime and improve plant efficienciesResponsible for upholding, following and maintaining the requirements of the BRC Food Safety Code for Manufacturing.
Other duties as may be assigned or volunteered for.
Provide leadership team with tactical downtime information.
Create a weekly audit to review and analyse current Production Lead and Supervisor LSW, training and coaching new behaviours, and creating support mechanisms.
Ensure compliance with all safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company policies:
Perform production area walk throughs, investigate problem areas, determine cause, mitigate to ensure policy conformanceEnsure processing area is inspection ready at all times Address and respond to new product review (PPR) questions and costingTo ensure adequate resources are available to achieve food safety and quality objectives and to support the development, implementation and maintenance and ongoing improvement of the BRC system.
Evaluates Plant performance, monitors expenses and resolves internal and customer issues:
Ensure production department performs within budgeted operating standardsResolve variances (production reporting, ingredient usage, labor utilization)Participate and promote GREAT KITCHENS FOOD COMPANY Cares philosophyAssists in Personnel Management:
Hire, train, coach and manage Production Plant team Foster positive employee relationsMeasure employee and team performance.
Set forth standards for safety.
Ensure incident/loss prevention and security policies are followed, including accurate and timely incident investigation and execution of corrective actionsMaintain Equipment, Assisting and Safety Practices:
Work with Supervision and maintenance to maintain equipment in good working conditionAbility to work in a fast paced environmentCorrect weighing and recording of any waste to be disposed ofFollows all work instructionsPerform all other work assigned duties as required by SupervisionKeep work area and machinery cleanUse Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary for task at handMust comply with all safety policies and procedures at all timesUtilize all safety devicesReport any unsafe work practices or injuries to your supervisorRequired to maintain a safe and clean work environmentEnsure all production workers complete all safety and other training in a timely manner.

Education, Technical Qualifications, Experience and Competencies Proficiency LevelRequiredSeven years food manufacturing experience, including managerial experience Production background in food manufacturingExcellent leadership, communications and team building skillsGeneral knowledge of process equipment and regulatory complianceGood writing, mathematics, analytical and critical thinking skillsBasic accounting knowledgeComputer literate with proficiency in spreadsheet and word applicationsPreferredCollege degree strongly preferredBilingual English/Spanish reading, writing and translating abilitiesPhysical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
