8K a year Job Description Summary The HR Generalist, Employment will assist with recruitment and advertising activities including the posting of open positions, follow-up with search committees, the H1b hiring process, and miscellaneous HR tasks.
This position administers effective employment related activities and is cross-trained and performs other HR related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities Mission Responsible to model the University's Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University's Mission as a Catholic and Lasallian institution of higher education.
Commitment to a diverse culture and appreciation for all people.
Employment Activities Provide hiring support for hiring managers.
Assist search committees with the staff interview process.
Research/recommend broader sourcing techniques to expand candidate pools.
Responsible for the posting of all staff/faculty positions Maintenance of the H1b hiring process Employee Life Cycle Assist in the employee life cycle process; conduct employee training and benefits orientations as needed.
Assist with employee engagement initiatives such as Celebration of Service; recognition of service anniversaries, retirements and other milestones.
Manage the exit interview process and tracking of HR metrics around turnover Benefits Management Be cross-trained on all benefit enrollments and changes.
Other Coordinate with third party administrator on all workers compensation claims Serve on various campus committees.
Assist in university initiatives as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Commitment to team-based management required.
This is an entry-level HR position requiring 1-2 years of relevant experience.
The core of this position requires a highly motivated, positive and proactive person who embraces the opportunity to learn and help grow an institution where innovation, creativity and inspiration meet.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office i.
e.
, Word, Excel, Access; and have the ability to work independently without supervision.
Preferred Qualifications Specific experience of 1-3 years dedicated to employment services, recruitment and/or advertising.
Knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations, procedures and standards.
PHR/SPHR certification a plus.
Essential Duties Work hours Full time.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
