PAF/Position Details Position Details Position Title Financial Aid Counselor - New Student Enrollment Position Status Full-Time Position Summary Information Job Description Summary The Finacial Aid Counselor reports to the Assistant Director of Financial Aid Services.
This position serves to enhance communication and coordination of recruitment efforts between the Offices of Undergraduate Admission and Financial Aid Services.
Responsibilities Responsible to model the University Mission through dedicated job performance, service excellence to constituencies, respectful collaboration and active support of the University's Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education.
-Package students for financial aid and determine eligibility following university, state and federal requirements.
-Assist in reviewing enrollment reports concerning new incoming freshman and transfer students.
-Review reports about incoming freshman/transfer students in regards to financial aid paperwork; work collaboratively with the Admissions staff to ensure timely completion of paperwork.
-Make follow-up phone calls to new incoming students concerning the completion of their financial aid files.
-Read, interpret and assess pertinent financial aid information from a variety of sources.
-Monitor and provide students with accurate information regarding the processing and status of their financial aid requests.
-Maintain accurate records on students awarded financial aid; disseminate information to appropriate parties.
-Serve on university committees and/or task forces as assigned.
-Participate in Lewis University visit days, open houses, orientations-Assist with the coordination of recruitment events and activities as assigned.
-Counsel prospective students and families to discuss admission and financial aid processes-Serve as the administrative support for prospective students and the Office of Financial Aid Services-Assist in building and maintaining relationships with high school guidance counselors-Present financial aid materials and processes to small groups.
-Attend seminar, training and conferences as needed-Perform additional job related duties as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid Services and/or the Assistant Director of Financial Aid Services.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum of three years demonstrated experience working in a Financial Aid Office at the college or university level.
Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills required.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
